Terms of Service
Effective October 21, 2026
The short version: Requesting connects customers with local businesses. Businesses are responsible for their food, products and permits. Be honest, show up when you book, and treat people well.
These terms are an agreement between you and Requesting (“Requesting,” “we,” “us”) for using the Requesting app and requestingapp.com (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
What Requesting is
Requesting helps people find food trucks, kitchens and local sellers, ask them to come to a location, track them and watch them live. Requesting is not a party to any sale. Businesses set their own prices and menus, and customers pay them directly. We don’t prepare, sell, inspect or deliver any food or goods.
Accounts
- You can browse and demand without an account. Following, reviewing and commenting need a free account.
- You must be at least 13 to use the Service, and at least 18 to create a business account.
- Give accurate information and keep your password private. You’re responsible for activity on your account.
Business accounts
- Approval. New businesses are reviewed before they appear, and owners must confirm a mobile number. We can decline any business.
- Permits and safety. You are solely responsible for holding the licenses, permits, insurance and food safety certifications your city, county and state require, and for following parking, vending and health rules wherever you operate.
- Accurate listings. Keep your profile, menu, prices, hours and posted spots accurate. Mark yourself sold out when you are.
- Demand and bookings. You choose your demand goal. Accepting a slot is a commitment: it notifies customers and holds about one block around that spot for that hour. Other businesses can’t book or post on that block during your slot.
- No-shows. If you don’t post your location on the booked block during an accepted slot, it counts as a no-show. Three no-shows in 90 days leads to a review and may lead to a pause. Tell us about real emergencies and we may excuse a no-show.
- Live streams. You can go live from an hour before your posted start time until it ends, up to 60 minutes a day. Streams must show your business. You’re responsible for what your stream shows and for getting consent where the law requires it.
- Square. If you connect Square, you authorize us to read your item catalog to import your menu.
Customers
- Demand honestly. One demand per person; using tricks to inflate counts isn’t allowed.
- A booking means the business plans to come. Plans can change, and Requesting doesn’t guarantee that a business will show up, what it will have, or its quality.
- Reviews must be about your own real experience.
Your content
You own what you post: reviews, comments, photos, menus and streams. You give Requesting a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display and share it as needed to run and promote the Service. You confirm you have the rights to what you post.
What’s not allowed
- Fake businesses, fake reviews, impersonation or misleading listings
- Harassment, hate speech, threats, or sexual or violent content
- Selling illegal, recalled or unsafe products
- Spam, scraping, or interfering with the Service or other people’s use of it
- Using someone else’s account or trying to get around a pause or block
Reports, moderation and enforcement
Anyone can report a business, stream, comment or review. We may remove content, hide reviews, end streams, block commenters, or pause or close accounts that break these terms or put people at risk, with or without notice. If your business is paused, we’ll tell you why when we can, and you can reply to support@requestingapp.com.
Fees
Requesting is free today. If we add paid features later, such as a Pro plan for businesses, we’ll show the price before you choose it, and the free features you rely on won’t start charging without notice.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Locations, arrival times, menus and availability come from businesses and devices and may be wrong or delayed. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Food allergies and dietary needs: always confirm ingredients directly with the business.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Requesting won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for anything arising from food, products or services provided by businesses, or from interactions between users. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to $100. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Indemnity
If you use the Service in a way that breaks these terms or the law, and someone brings a claim against Requesting because of it, you agree to cover the resulting costs, including reasonable legal fees. For businesses, this includes claims about your food, products, permits and conduct.
Ending your account
You can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for violations of these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive, like content licenses, disclaimers and limits of liability, continue after your account ends.
Changes
We may update these terms. If changes are important, we’ll let you know in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the state where Requesting is organized, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located there, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
